A partnership has been formed between SnapChat and OpenAI to provide a new ChatGPT Remote API, allowing developers to leverage ChatGPT in lens applications.
Developers can now create new creative, educational, and interactive experiences for SnapChat users using text content generated by ChatGPT.
Developers can also create lenses containing tests and random elements powered by ChatGPT, and automatically change the camera style based on user request.
The company is introducing new capabilities, including a 3D face mask generator, with which individuals can quickly create their own lens to express themselves.
Lens Studio 5.0 beta increases productivity 18x over the previous version, allowing developers to load projects very quickly.
The tool supports version control, like Git, which enables multiple developers to work on projects at the same time.
SnapChat also points to its frequent use of OpenAI technology, such as the GPT-based My AI chatbot.
Digital Goods Lenses are now available to all developers, and there's a new section in Lens Explorer promoting them to make them easier to find and try for SnapChat users.
